The Hole

Dad was feeling extra good for this fishing trip,  so it was decided that on Saturday we would hike down in to "the hole", dad's favorite place to fish.  It's a steep and in places, dicey climb down and up, but well worth the effort.  The scenery was breath taking, dad was so pleased to be in his favorite spot, and we were equally as pleased to to share this experience with him.  Plus, this is the place where the only two fish of the trip were caught, by team Funk!  David and Roni Jo each caught a fish.

Reynald contemplating.

Such a beautiful smile this happy child has!

David right before the first catch.

Victory!

Alicia in the hole!

It is so beautiful and rugged.

Roni with the catch!!

The St. Joe river is catch and release.  The hooks used are barbless so they are easy to remove and the fish is easily released.

So excited!!!!
Watching the fisherman in the river.
Making the hike back up the mountain.

This shows how steep the terrain was in places.

But so pretty.

Taking a rest break!

This is where we were.

And this is where we ended up!  Happy to be back up on top but even more thrilled to have been down at the bottom.
