We had quite a wind storm this past Saturday. Peak gusts were clocked at 48 mph, with sustained winds around 35 mph. The wind blew for about 24 hours at that pace. We had a couple inches of snow before the wind started and that all ended up in four or five drifts. Once the wind ran out of snow, it etched away frozen soil. The snow drifts ended up the color that I like to drink coffee.
Sunday and Monday evening new snow fell, making everything crisp and white again.
A few photos from Saturday.

You can see that the snow piled up where on the asparagus patch, but everything else is nearly bare. |

A closer look at the asparagus patch. |

This drift in the north flower bed is higher than the pasture fence. |

There's always this drift across our lane. We just drive in the field until Reynald has a chance to get out the snow plow! |

I had to dig out this drift so I could get in to the chicken house. |

This drift is right in front of the little door that the chickens use to go in and out of their house. I really should shovel a path for them to get out because once they get past the drift, the rest of the chicken yard is clear. |
