Harvest Celebration 2017

We hosted our harvest celebration party yesterday afternoon.  Due to high winds, we gathered in our shop rather than in our yard.  20 people enjoyed shrimp cocktails, a hamburger bar, a variety of salads and lots of choices for dessert!

Signage directing guests to the shop rather than the house.

The view from the shop over to the house.

Les made shrimp cocktails!

Guests visiting before dinner.

Niece Andrea and her husband Sean arrived from Dallas, just in time to join the party!

Les visiting with Catherine about something terribly important no doubt!

The Mooney family and Uncle Doug.
Gregory leading the charge at the dinner buffet.

Les building an artistic hamburger.  Imagine that!
David getting right down to the business of dinner!

Alicia and her friend Kenzie, here from Austin Texas for a visit, helped set up the tables and chairs in the shop.  It looked so pretty.

Kelly made this wonderful gluten free cake for dessert.

I made cherry galettes, a first try at this dessert.  They were good!

Galette before baked.

A tired but happy host.

So, we've put down one tool and picked up another.  This week I will work on spraying morning glory in the summer fallow.  Alicia and Reynald are going to do a preliminary harvest equipment clean up and begin work on the drill for seeding.  Not quite ready to slow down and take a breath!!!
