Bridal Shower

Last week Friday my mom and I were in New York City!  A week later, here on the farm, is quite a contrast.  Both settings unique and vibrant in their own way.

Saturday morning Jean took us to visit a beautiful garden estate which was once a private home and grounds, but is now managed by a non-profit.  Everything is so green and lush.  Such a contrast to our part of the world!  We wandered around the grounds for a little over an hour, appreciating the design of the landscape and I was especially fond of the statuary, which you will see in the following photos.  I really love garden statuary for some reason!

I would LOVE to have these frogs in my yard!!!!

Water features are so much work and maintenance, as illustrated by this abandoned water pond in the garden.

But, if I had a water feature, I would definitely have to have this darling  statue!  I love the sweet face of this little boy, clutching a heron in each arm!  Pretty sure we know where the water would come our of this statue!

Another sweet faced little fellow.

And Pegasus is a garden statue must.

I would like to share a few images of the delightful bridal shower that we attended last Saturday.  It was a warm and sunny day, absolutely beautiful.  The event was hosted at Jean's friend Stephanie's gorgeous New Jersey countryside home.  Everything about the day was memorable.

Stephanie's beautiful home in the Jersey country side.

We all loved this bridal veil welcome on the front door of Stephanie's home.

Tables were decorated with fresh flower arrangements, featuring sunflowers, Roni's favorite flower.  Each table also had a photo of Roni Jo and David, this one depicting their "sports years"!

A portion of the stunning back yard.

We gathered for light appetizers on the patio.

The shower hostesses quizzed David about Roni's favorites.  Cougar Gold cheese from Washington State University Creamery is on the top of that list!  Peppy Party Meatballs were also on the menu!!

David joined us for most of the afternoon, which was delightful.

There's a long story behind these aprons, which was a super fun, and personalized gift from David's mom, Jean.

David feigning embarrassment when Roni opened this pretty negligee!

I spent some time this winter making these cross stitch Christmas stockings.  I also made a darling advent calendar, with lots of redesign help from my friend Brenda.  It's because of her, that it was darling!

I love this photo of Roni Jo and Grandma Jo!

Thank you, thank you, to everyone that made this a terrific day, full of wonder and amazement, generosity and love.

  2. It is such a cute bridal shower party. Went for a destination wedding of my friend at one of the royal venue NYC few months back. Vintage interior and ample spaces available for traditional ceremonies were outstanding. Catering quality was incredible and cake cutting ceremony followed by dance was enjoyed by all of us.
