Today more migrant workers showed up, willing to pick pie cherries in exchange for food and lodging. Louise and Chemyn, Tucker and Anna. Anna is boarding at Louise's, newly arrived from Japan and Tucker is Chemyn's dog! Anna did help pick cherries, Tucker not so much.
We had a wonderful visit, picked and pitted lots of pie cherries, and finished off the day with an amazing meal and a spectacular sunset. Workers are spending the night tonight, anticipating a full day for 4th of July activities tomorrow.

Louise made this wonderful pie, which not only tasted terrific but was almost too beautiful to cut in to, but we did!

Fresh cherry pie.......so good! |
The wind blew like crazy today, but died down this evening so that we could capture some pretty photos of the sunset and buntings that weren't flipped upside down and inside out.
Tomorrow a few more folks arrive to help celebrate Independence day with even more food, even more visiting, and yard games for even more fun! A few special surprises are planned, which will no doubt be photographed and reported upon.
