Farmer's Wife work day

Yesterday we had a Farmer's Wife work day in the barn.  Cheryl, Martha and Lynnie all worked on Farmer's Wife blocks.  I am now firmly in last place on blocks completed since Lynnie finished 3 more yesterday, bumping her up to 10.  Martha and Cheryl are somewhere in the 50's!!!  It's such a cool project, but my brain just can't handle it right now.

The photos show how busy every one is on these work days!  They are so much fun!!!  Lots of sewing and stitching and planning and visiting.  Busy as little bees.  Speaking of busy bees, this morning I found a darling quilt block called Honey Bees!   Some day I am going to make this...not as a quilt but a wall hanging.  http://ifinallyhavetime.com/tag/honey-bee-block/  (a person can spend a lot of time looking at stuff on-line!)

Emily busy crocheting.  She is just learning and you can't believe the things she is making!

I think these little crochet galoshes are absolutely adorable!  These are size 6 mo. for a baby.

And an Easter bonnet to go with!

Lynnie working on Farmer's Wife blocks.

Martha and Cheryl adding to their count!!!

Cheryl says this project is addicting!  I wish I shared her enthusiasm!

Claudia and Brenda stitching, laughing and visiting!

Brenda is stitching this bell pull.  It's the 12 days of Christmas.

Brenda was so smart to start with 12 drummers drumming.  By the time she gets to a partridge in a pear tree it will seem like she hardly has anything to stitch.  I started with the partridge and thought I would whip this project out in no time!  Not so!!!

Brenda is an expert stitcher!  I have so much to learn from her.

Claudia is working on a hand applique project for the Odessa quilt shop raffle.  She too does amazing work.

Beth and Cheryl doing some planning for a new project.

Do not look at the next photo if you have a tender tummy!  Reynald has been trapping mice outside for the last six weeks.  With the warm weather, the mice have been out and about in force.  Leo is fat as a butter ball!  The mice discovered the bee hive and have been consistently jumping up in to the hive and robbing the bees of their honey.  This is when I declared war on the mice and Reynald happily complied with the execution!  The next photo is proof a small victory.  He caught three mice last night alone, around the bee hive.  He has lost count, and he is a bit prone to exaggeration, though he may be close when he says that he has trapped over 50 mice just by the bee hive.

The latest bee hive invader victim!  I really hate mice......really really don't like them.
