Go Cougs!

Ever since the SS Rolinco came to live here, Reynald has had an itch to take it down to Pullman for a Cougar football game.  He finally wore me down.  I was out of excuses!  Not even the forecast of over an inch of rain and high winds would sway him, though it did sway the SS Rolinco as we were driving!  And indeed, it did rain, over an inch before and during the game!

Sadly, the Cougs lost.  They had a chance to win, with a field goal attempt in the last 4 seconds of the game, but alas, the football did not go through the goal post.  Fans were crushed as I'm sure the players and coaching staff were.  It would have been the first time in a very long time that the Cougs had beaten a nationally ranked team.

Since the weather was so nasty we didn't walk around campus either yesterday or today.  However, we still observed many changes, mostly with the football stadium which has been updated and expanded since we were last in attendance!  Kind of fun.

We had to laugh though......the last college football game we went to was in Texas when Alicia was at UT!  Quite a contrast to Cougar football!!!   The stadium at WSU is the size of some high school football stadiums in Texas where football is king!  While it was super fun to experience big time football, we are still most comfortable in our little alma mater school!  Go Cougs!!!

The cougar marching band awaiting the arrival of the team!

And here they come!!!

Everyone was decked out for rain, and rain it did!  About 3/4 in fell during the game.

We weren't as well prepared with Cougar rain gear as the rest of the crowd!

So, as it turns out the tickets and the RV parking were free!  Reynald was talking to our field man this past week and Mike asked him if we wanted some tickets for the game this weekend.  Also offered to let us park at the Helena plant parking area.  That was part of the reason my pleas for staying home this weekend fell on deaf ears!

Here we are parked among semi tractors and trailers.  Actually much better than the Walmart parking lot, where there were probably 60 or 70 RV's parked!  Ugh!!!!

The SS Rolinco, Oliver and a fleet of trucks and trailers!

Little Oliver looked like a matchbox toy next to all the bigger rigs!  Baxter is keeping a watchful eye!

Now here's a find!  Roni and David have requested an arbor made out of white birch branches for the wedding.  I found these branches in the ditch behind the SS Rolinco!  They will make good cross pieces for the arbor.  Reynald just rolled his eyes and dutifully stuffed them in to the storage area of the Rolinco!

A lazy breakfast this morning, of farm fresh eggs and bacon.

This is what I worked on yesterday afternoon and this morning.  It's a small piece to the Stitching Chicks raffle quilt that we are going to be doing.

Baxter......if only he could get out and explore!
