Vacation Day 2

Our first day in Yellowstone National Park did not disappoint.  We followed Crayton's lead and headed for the geyser loop.  It is so hard for me to wrap my head around this geologic phenomena. These are but a few photos that I took on this day.

On our way to Old Faithful.  This was my first sighting of what was to come.

We stopped at the Grand Prismatic pond which is better viewed from above, but we didn't take the time to hike the trail to do that.  It was quite cool that morning so there was a great deal of steam, making it even more difficult to get a good photo but very beautiful nonetheless.

Old Faithful Lodge from a board walk.

Inside the Old Faithful Lodge.  It's breathtaking but difficult to capture with these images.

Railings, beams, staircases, are all made out of timber from the area.

The Grand Geyser is indeed GRAND!  it spouted off much higher, and much longer than Old Faithful.

And this is the Castle Geyser.  It gave us quite a show.

One of the many thermal pools in the area.

The Sapphire Pool is so beautiful it looks fake!

There is a fleet of vintage tour buses from the 1930's that have been renovated and are in use today.  They are so cool!
